Realtor Doesn't Sell Senior's Home!

My parents wanted to stay in their home!

Of late we have expanded to become a sandwich generation Realtor!  No, you have not heard of that before, I just made it up!  We still work with our young family clients.  However, our journey of transitioning older adults, through the ASA (Accredited Senior Agent) designation program and becoming a Master-ASA, brings a different situation for a Realtor.  Now many boomers find themselves faced with a unique situation in their family life as they deal with both their parents and their children. The challenge of deciding, organizing, researching and performing the necessary items of a “move or don’t move” situation for parents can be tremendous. The excitement and overwhelming acceptance of this work has simply energized and opened this (my) mind to a new level of stimulation. So now we have this great thrill of helping young folks become established and we are realizing a real sense of satisfaction by helping other families. Our business addition relieves the stress and anxiety that goes along with late-in-life moves.

I think what is simply awesome is the acceptance of our program by professionals such as lawyers, care givers, seniors move managers, staff at residences and seniors support groups. Never before have I seen such opportunity, had so many good people put in front of me, felt such satisfaction. The older adults are the folks who gave completely of themselves to their family, community and country and too often today they are left to their own devises when they are in their most vulnerable time. We are so very blessed to be able to give back to them with our professional service or simply by listening, caring and going the extra mile.

What we want from you the reader is to look at this as an opportunity to help someone who really deserves to be treated with respect and caring. This segment of the market is not something that we can serve well, without a real desire to make a difference! The need for us to share the message to “Make Seniors Matter Again” is more than a slogan.  

It’s really hard for someone to understand why or how I, as a REALTOR would sometimes feel it would be better for an older adult to stay in their home, from a financial viewpoint as well as for their piece of mind. It’s really easy, if that is their desire and there is a sensible way to do it, let’s make it happen! We have resources that can help with financial assistance, and a plan to make the home “senior safe” and need “minimum care”.  We are proud of our many resources, people like us who respect our elders and want to give back. Our rewards will come when you introduce us to someone we can help with this extended business model.
