A series on what makes RE/MAX Glenn’s choice and why it should be yours!
It’s Sunday morning and I have made a commitment to write a meaningful blog every week. Sunday for me is a good time to do that, it’s a morning when I seem to be in a frame of mind that will allow for some thought, some quiet time without a feeling of need to rush off.
During this mornings quiet time I realized I was in the process of trying to bring together 25 years of experience while embracing the ever changing product marketing revolution. It’s interesting how many REALTORS® are afraid of the changes computers and iphones and ipads are bringing. Some REALTORS® even fear extinction. It is making a big change in the way we do some things, and it actually helps us to do some of the things we have been doing for ever. And we are not alone, I think most industries are having the same changes, but our industry is one of the most popular subjects; possibly right behind sex. Its always been understood that being a REALTOR® is a 24 hr commitment, go to a party and everyone wants to know what their house is worth? What’s happening in the market? What did the neighbour’s house sell for? I remember fearing going to my in-laws house as I would always be asked, how much is Charlie’s house listed for? I practiced real estate 50 miles away. How was I to know? So I would make a point, check out the listing before I went for Sunday dinner!!
So to my point: why was RE/MAX my choice when making a move back to the city after being away for 7 years?
In 1994 RE/MAX introduced the RE/MAX Satellite network; this was a venue for training, information distribution and was the first of its kind to help their Agents around the world. I remember how learning in this way seemed so strange, now it’s interactive webinars, chat rooms - and its all very natural.
Again RE/MAX is leading the way with our curbside marketing. You may not have seen it much yet but it has been more utilized in outlying areas such as where we just came back from in Wasaga Beach.
What is curbside marketing? Well its real simple, pull up in front of a house that’s for sale and using a smart phone the consumer can a) capture a QR code (much like a bar code you scan at the grocery store) and presto instant information on the home, maybe even a virtual tour, yep, right there on your phone. Or B) sends a text to a designated number 28888 and enters an identifying number and bingo that information will be on a return text to your phone.
So you can see how excited I am about that, when my friend asks how much his neighbour’s house is? Provided of course if it’s listed by a Agent who has curbside marketing He can have the answer right there on the spot on his iPhone … Cool eh?
But that is just the beginning, next Sunday morning I will continue on with more of What Curbside marketing can do for you and WHY it works with RE/MAX.
